Mi"- William $. Russell
Class Mvisor

We, the graduating class of Tenney Memorial High
School, proudly dedicate this yearbook to Mr. William
E. Russell, our class advisor. The many services he
has performed for the school, the athletic teams, and
the students of the high school will long be remem-
bered and appreciated. His friendly countenance and
keen sense of humor have endeared him to the stu-
dent body. It is indeed an honor to dedicate the
Torch of 1964 to a man who has so unselfishly given
of himself and who has won the esteem of everyone.

We have spent four of the most memorable years
in our lives at Tenney Memorial High School. It is
the sincere wish of all the members of the Torch
Staff of 1 964 that- this yearbook will recall fond mem-
ories when you look back on it in future years. Pre-
paring the Torch for you has been a great pleasure,
and we hope that you will enjoy it.

The approaching graduation will find the Class of 1964 prepared to
meet the world from which we have been sheltered during our twelve years
of schooling. We are prepared, both mentally and emotionally, to face the
realities and the aspirations of our community and our nation.

As we take up the burden of citizenship and maturity, I pray that each
member of the graduating class will possess the strength and wisdom to
obey the rules of his community of his conscience. May the Class of '64
find success, happiness, and peace in this crowded world.

October 25, 1963, was the date of the annual
Cadet Hop. Mr. AAorrisette and our principal,
Mr. Beaumont, announced the ranks of the corps.
Among the honored were:

Colonel and Commander of the corps, Mike
Hager

Lieutenant Colonel and Executive Officer Bill

Majors Chuck McNulty, Jerry Elwood

It was also the night that Nancy Gilbert be-
came Cadet Queen. Selected by the cadet corps,
Miss Gilbert received a bouquet of red roses
and was crowned by the colonel. JoAnn Fichera
and Joan Cook, the queen's two attendants, re-
ceived blue and white bouquets. As usual, the
Hop was a huge success, and it was enjoyed
by all.
